The geographers students of Suceava carry out their alternative scientific activity in three non-governmental associations:

FIELD TRIPS

  The student practice is stipulated in curricula as a compulsory discipline in the 4th semester of the undergraduate cycle, both daily courses and the distance learning.

It takes place as itinerant practical applications for 1 week and as stationary practice for 2 weeks. For the itinerant practical applications, different geographical units and subunits in Romania and various objectives are targeted; the students can opt to extend this form of practice and over the 7 days assigned in the curriculum.

 

For the stationary practice, USV provides for the geographer students the following locations:

  • The University's hotel from Vatra Dornei
  • The research base from Galanesti
  • Sipotel cabin

During the years of study, the teachers organise, both for the undergraduate and graduate students, interesting field trips in the urban and suburban area of Suceava, in Obcinile Bucovinei, Rarau, Ceahlau, in the balneoclimateric stations of Gura Humorului, Campulung, Vatra Dornei and not only.

 

EVENTS

 

The geographers students participate at scientific events organized both in the Department of Geography of USV and at events in other institutions of higher education.

 

Among the events organized within the Department in recent years, we mention:

  • The National Student Symposium of Geography
  • The National Student Symposium "Invitation at Geography in Bucovina"
  • The symposia for students organized by the Geoconcept association

Add to these a variety of conferences on various topics organized by scholars from Suceava, Romania and from abroad.
