  Why Targu Ocna Resort?

    
 *out of local patriotism;

 *out of the desire of being known nationally for its natural potential,that is special

 

     General datas

  The city of Targu Ocna is situated at the hems of Nemira and Berzunti Mountains,in continuation of Comanesti Depression,in the South-West of Bacau province,at a medium altitude of 280m.

  The climate is one of hills,with moderate temperatures(average annaul temperature is 9,20 C) and average annual precipitation of 700mm,wich gives a pleasently bioclimate,caracterized as unsolicited-sedative,destressfull,refreshing.The air is full of  aerosol,resins and negative ions of oxygen

  The  town is road related by DN 12A to Miercurea Ciuc,DN 11A,to Adjud and DN 11 to Bacau,from where it exits an aerial connection.The railway  connection is from the station Targu Ocna Mine,on line 501(Adjud-Miercurea Ciuc).

  The town of Targu Ocna was declared resort of local interest in 1804 and of national interest in 2002.

 

       Datas of tourisic interest

  The definitory dimensions for the tourism in Targu Ocna are;

*the mineral springs: seven springs,lanscaped and used since 1888 for several diseases

      -internal cure:nonspecific chronic enterocolitis,atona constipation,biliary diskinesia,postoperative sequelae of biliary tract:

      -external cure:rheumtic diseases,musculo-articular disorders postraumatic,diseases of the respirstory and ENT,gynecological diseases,stress.

*Targu Ocna Mine; has a sanatorium build in interior,at 130m depth.With real broken in salt cathedrals,with the vastene3ss of the gaps,with the labyrinth of galleries in thousands of feet long or with Saint Varavara Churc and Salt Museum,the Mine creates the impression of a city submerged in depths.

    The material bases of the Mine:sports courts (basketball,mini football,table tennis and tennis camp,chess), playfields for the children,salt water lahe and a waterfall,medical cabinet,souvenirs,space for gymnastics,buffet and balcony and specialized staff.

     The structure of the tourist resort

  *Magura Hotel: situated in the center of the city,at 200m from the railway station,with 230 places:

  *Creanga's Guest House: at 2 km of the center and 3 km of the Mine,with 23 rooms. At 350m of the Hostel,on a paved road that crosses a pine-forest,it gets to Creanga's  Holiday Village-a complex of houses(72 places),on the shore of a lake for sport fishing.

   *Anda's Motel:3 stars,located at the entrance of the resort from Onesti,on DN 12A,with 20 rooms;

   *Elena Hostel:3 stars,5 rooms:

   *Florina Hostel and Ilinca Hostel:placed right across the mine.

 

      Other things to see and visit

  *The monument and cemetery of heroes fallen in World War I,placed in Targu Ocna;

  *Slanic Moldova Resort,named also"The Pearl of Moldavia";

  *Heroes' Cemetery of the Ciresoaia plateau;

  *Stirbei's Castle in Darmanesti,dating from 1902;

  *Ghica's Castle,in Comanesti,from 1905;

  *Magura Monastery.

 

        Natural and antropic fram make the Targu Ocna resort a place that should not be missing from the itinerary of a holiday.
