        My name is Titina Groza and if you wish to spend your holiday by visiting places mirifice and reconnect to your health then visits the Baths area and you won't forget Herculane never this region

       Resort located in south western Romania,at an altitude of 168 m,8 km distance and 25 Mehedinti border with Serbia,it has two millenia old.Resort that relies on natural factors that matters in :

-Intramontane depression climate,

-Mediterranean influences,

-thermal waters and hyperthermia;

-weak radioactive

- hypotonic having chemical compositions sulfur, chlorine, calcium, sodium, oligo.

       Throught these water may be treated more disease treatment by perfoming thermal baths,and covered in pools,thermal baths,sulfur  and salt in tubs and pools,thermal water cures internal hydrotherapy facilities(and sauna) electrotherapy and physioterapy,hydrokinetotherapy,onhalotherapy,cure making filed trips to :Steam Cave,Thieves(Cave of Outlaws).

       First document of the resort is in 102 A Cr during the Emperor Traian.Resort name was given after the name of the god Hercules, son of Zeus and Elena (patron of hot springs). Romans built here Theme Herculi (temples, baths, monuments, and statues dedicated to the gods) impressed by the power of healing thermal waters of the Cerna Valley. After 1736 there has been rebuilding and modernization of bathrooms by building access roads in area, under General Hamilton and grainicerilor from Banat, valuing them baroque architecture – austrian , giving an impressive elegance.Springs are exploited, the largest being in the hotel Roman bath once there  number 9.

     The resort was visited by important personalities, such as empress Elizabeth (Sisi) which shows that this area is distinct and charming, but also by emperor Franz Joseph, Joseph II, Francis I and Empress Carolina.

     Herculane resort maintained personality and before World War II, a luxury resort and in the communist period reaching retirement resort and tourism  table.

The major hotels are open as:

Hotel Diana- on the left bank of the Cerna at 205 m from the resort, three star hotel, renovated in 2011 with the theme of wellness and- climatic range of services: spa treatments, a beautiful area, with 220 rooms based,spa treatments,non-smoking rooms.

Hotel Dacia-in Park Vicol , is the largest resort,accommodation capacity of 1070 seats (4 suites, 531 double rooms) rooms with a 2-star hotel facilities, all in the hotel are the treatment facilities, restaurant, bar,etc.

 Hotel Roman-Cerna River, 181 rooms, restaurant, bar,treatment, pool, conference room, Roman imperial baths, etc.

     In the area there are other treatment units and tourist accommodation such as: House Lorabella, Elit, Ambassador, Yellow Rose,Maria House.

   Vegetation and fauna are very diverse, rich in rare endemic elements: pine Banat, hornbeam, hazel Turkish, yew, beech, oriental beech, lilac wild flowers as: Carthusian pink, primrose, blue crocus, crocus, species of thorn,a copy of the giant Sequoia tree park resort.

      The fauna is diverse, invertebrates are represented by scorpions, beetles, over 100 species of butterflies, but in area are also snakes, lizards, foxes or birds (hawks).

                               So give the area a chance ... ... .... and not one you will never forget it.
